Photo Assignment 7:Animal

This week I took pictures of my cousins dog, Dasher that my family is dog sitting at the moment and my cat, Hailey. We gave dasher a bath so he is all wet. In some of the pictures he is shaking. This photo assignment was really fun to shoot because it was challenging to control the subject. My animals did not really want their pictures taken, every time I would go to shoot them they would turn around.

Photo Assignment 6: Event

This weekend I went to the Michigan Football Game and took pictures. It was a perfect day to take pictures, to bad Michigan lost. :( It was difficult to get a good quality picture because I had to have it on an aperture that would let in the right amount of light, but at the same time I had to have a really fast shutter speed to capture the motion.

Aperture- 5.5 f/stops

Motion Demo

Today we took pictures of Mr. Bush on his bike. We were learning how to blur the background while having the object stay in focus. We did this by panning. This was my best picture, it is not a very goo example but its the best one that I took.

Photo Assignment 5: Motion

This week I took pictures of motion. I had a hard time getting the shot I wanted, I either took the picture too late or to early so I would miss the action. This weekend my family was raking all the leaves in our yard and we made a huge pile! My sisters and I put a ladder nest to the pile and jumped into it. My best picture is of my sister Lauren jumping into the pile. I actually took this picture with my Iphone. Also in my album i have pictures of the water in the toilet. I would flush the toilet and take a picture of the moving water. In the album there are also pictures I took of my soccer game.

Gimp Assignment 3: Panoramic

This week in gimp we edited pictures to turn them into a panoramic picture. My picture is of a bus in the high school parking lot. This is a very hard process and takes patience.

Photo Assignment 4: Light Painting

This week I did light painting. It was so fun! I learned a lot about the camera and the different settings that are needed for light painting. My best picture is of a person that I drew with a light on a swing. I was hard to pick the best picture because all of them were unique and cool in there own way.

Gimp Assignment 2 : Editing

This week we explored gimp further and learned how to edit pictures. We used different layers and selection tools, and also cloning to fix the picture. I definitely feel more accustomed with gimp, and now I know how to edit pictures.

Photo Assignment 3: Nature

This week I chose to take pictures of nature. It was a perfect week to do this because it was sunny and the skies were clear most of the time. When it was not sunny there was still a cool fall lighting. Also it is fall so there are so many different colors and the trees are really pretty. This picture is of a branch with only one leaf left.

Gimp assignment 1

In this gimp assignment we used the andy warhaal affect. This is a very cool affect where you take one picture and compose it so that there are 4 pictures in one and each one is a different color. My picture is of me at my lake in the summer.

Photo Assignment 2: Pattern/Texture

This is a picture of a bulletin board in the high school. The board is covered with the benifit concert advertisements of the band We the Living. The posters covered the board creating a pattern. I changed the picture to black and white to enhance the white/black pictures on the black bulletin board. For the rest of the album I took pictures of objects around my house or the school that showed a nice pattern or texture.

Photo Assignment 1: Still life

For my fist photo assignment I chose the topic of still life. My best picture is of some shelf clips. In the original picture the clips were gold and brown and on a green folder. In photo shop I edited it to make the green folder pop, while the clips were black and white.

ISO: 80
Aperture: f/2.6

First Photo Assignment

For the first photo assignment I am going to take pictures of still life. I was also planing on using color to make the pictures even cooler. Here are some pictures that inspired me.

still life by the pond, Sido

Still-life with a violet theme. Feathers, ribbon, glass beads and yes, glitter and a waterdrop, Chantal Rose

Mike Wilson

Picklesgee

I think these pictures are good examples of still life and color. I was thinking of using colored pencils or crayons on white or black paper for my pictures.

Composition Assignment #2

These pictures are for the composition assignment #2. Each one represents a different topic. The topics are color, balance, space, perspective, and framing. For framing I took a picture of my cat through her cat door. My space picture was of the top of a pine tree and the blue sky. I represented color with a handful of brightly colored fruit loops on a white plate. The last picture is a picture of my friend that is sitting down, while i am standing up taking the picture. This is a cool perspective shot because it is looking down on her. In this composition project we learned more ways to take a picture. for example we learned about framing, and perspective. Also we learned how to balance a picture.

Composition Assignment #1

In this assignment we took pictures of lines, symmetry, rule of thirds, pattern, texture, and depth of field. My symmetry picture is of barn doors that have a symmetric pattern on them. The picture that I took for lines is a wall of bricks. On the wall the lines in between the bricks draw you in. The Rule of thirds picture is of a swing that is off center. For the pattern picture I took a picture of a lattice. The picture of 5 paint bottles is my depth of field picture because in the background the other stool and cabinet are blurred. The picture of the fire hydrant is the texture picture. The fire hydrant is old and pieces of paint are falling off. Also there are many different ridges on the fire hydrant. I learned how to use different settings of the camera, and about the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is when you divide the picture into thirds and put the object that you focus on in one of the thirds.
